Academic year: September to June.

Admission requirements. Foreign students should have a schoolleaving certificate (secondary school diploma) awarded after passing the six grades of secondary education. Entrance examinations are held for the University of Cyprus and all public post-secondary non-university institutions. Entrance requirements for private post-secondary non-university institutions can only be satisfied by 12 years of schooling or obtaining a secondary school certificate after six years of secondary schooling or its equivalent.

Immigration requirements.Visas may be required depending on the country.

Language proficiency required. Good knowledge of Greek/Turkish for study at the University of Cyprus and of English for other institutions is required.

Monetary unit: Cyprus pound (C£). Expenses for one academic year. Total of approx. US$12,000 per year.

Information can be obtained from the institutions of higher education, or the Ministry of Education and Culture (Department of Higher and Tertiary Education, Gr. Afxentiou Street, Nicosia) or through the Cyprus Government embassies and high commissions in various countries.
